The 425 was a one channel bass guitar amp with "loudness" and a single "tone" control. It was discontinued by 1962. The 415 was introduced as a smaller bass amp in 1962, it might have been a replacement for the 425.

The 425 used a 320-0-320 transformer.

An engineering influence of the Estey organ design on the 425 is the seperate chassis and control panel. The control panel was mounted in the top of the combo cabinet, and the chassis with the tubes and transformers was in the bottom of the combo cabinet. This was commonly done with other amp manufacturers (Danelectro, Valco) but this might be the first example of this design that Magnatone producted.
